Prom Details

Yesterday was my leavers prom and I wanted to show you a few highlights of the night. I've gathered together a few photos to share. It is a still a weird idea that I've actually finished school now?! Sorry some of the photos are taken on my phone as it's less awkward than getting out my camera... Enjoy.

New Look Haul

Summer is fast approaching and I will no longer need to wear school uniform next year; two good excuses to buy a few more things for my wardrobe. If you've read my blog before you will probably realise that New Look is one of my favourite places to shop, and this season there is lots of great things in there. Hopefully this post will give you a idea of what it out there for this season. I would just like to point out that I an not bragging in anyway, I have brought this stuff over the last couple of months and I personally love reading haul posts. I will try and link all of the items that are available on the website. Anyway, on with the haul..

I'm going to start with tops. The first thing I picked up was a blue and white thin striped vest top for £8.99 (These colours will be a recurring theme throughout this post!!). This is a really simple item and I have already got a lot of wear out of this. I loved the style and fit of this top, so I ended up going back and picking up the cream version, priced at £7.99. I also picked up this scallop edge top in white - £12.99. I've seen similar things in Topshop but what I particularly like is that the material is thicker than the Topshop version. Sticking with the white theme I also picked up this top with a really pretty embroidered detail, this was £17.99 which I think it's quite expensive for New Look but I loved it anyway. I don't really own that many sleeved tops, so I picked up this basic wrap back top for £7.99.

As you know, I have been loving wearing stripes and I picked up this striped shirt for £17.99. I thought that I could pair this with some of the white tops and leave it undone or I could wear it loosely tucked into shorts. For the colder days (and as I live in the UK we have plenty of them!) I brought a long black cardigan, priced at £12.99. I also picked up a navy embroidered kimono in the sale for £8 but I'm don't think this is still available. Onto shorts, I picked up this pair of light blue high waisted shorts for £17.99. And my favourite purchase has to be my new handbag, this is a kind of satchel style in a light pink and grey colour. I brought this in the sale reduced to £8 - it is no longer available in the colour I brought but there are a few different colours still. I am planning on doing a handbag essentials post soon.

I hope you enjoyed this post, do let me know the shops you have been loving shopping in at the moment. See you next time.

While I've been away // Favourites

Although I haven't been blogging for a while I've still been buying, trying and using a lot of products. In todays post I am going to be sharing some of  the things that I've been loving while I was on my exam break.

Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara - I did review this product before I stopped posting (link here) but OMG this product is my favourite thing ever. I have recommended it to a lot of people and I'm now recommending it to you. This mascara does everything, it gives me really long lashes with incredible volume. I think I've used this basically everyday since I brought it. I have tried using some of my other mascaras but I always come straight back to this. It creates perfect lashes really quickly, this has been useful when I was having to get ready really quickly for an exam. I cannot fault this product!

Maybelline Brow Drama  - I've had this product for quite a long time but I don't think I've mentioned  it in a favourites post. This is an everyday staple and I just forget how much I love it as it isn't a new find. I don't really have the darkest of eyebrows and hair, so I've always been a bit scared to fully do my eyebrows but this just gives your eyebrows a tint and keeps them in place, creating a really natural eyebrow. I think this is available in Dark Blonde, Light Brown, Dark Brown and Transparent. This product would be really good as an alternative eyebrow look but also a good product to help set your eyebrows in place.

Maybelline Colour Tattoo in Creamy Beige  - This is the last Maybelline product I promise. This is a cream eye shadow from  the Colour Tattoo Leather Effect range. I love this as it is quite natural, slightly more pink than my skin tone and it is matt. Because of this I quite often use this as a base before I apply eye shadow, but it works really well on its own as well.

L'Oreal Lipstick in Eva's Nude - I have really loved wearing this. I always go for the more natural lip looks and the L'Oreal lipsticks are really good. It keeps my lips moisturised and the colour pay off is really good. I really want to try a few more lip sticks from this collection.

Fashion // Stripes - Moving away from makeup; recently I have found that stripes are slowly creeping their way into my wardrobe. This is a really simple way to make my outfits a bit more interesting and I think I will be wearing a lot more stripes over the Summer!

Music -  As well as my obvious music loves (One Direction, Ed Sheeran and 5SOS) I have also been listening to a lot of James Bay's music. I love his album Chaos and the Calm, it was on repeat when I was preparing from my art and graphics exams. I have also had Little Mix's Black Magic stuck in my head since it was released.

Thank you for reading, comment below some of the things you have been loving and if you have any recommendations. I would also love to know if there are any particular posts you would like me to do. See you next time.
