Top 3 at Christmas!

Today I though I would share my top 3 films, songs etc. at Christmas time. I felt that Christmas has really crept up on us this year, it really doesn't feel like less than a week to go. Hopefully now school as finished for Christmas I should feel a little more festive.

Top 3 Christmas Films
1. National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation: This is a tradition in my house at Christmas. I think this film is something that people either love or hate. I think it is being shown on TV on Christmas Eve this year??
2. Elf: My second favourite Christmas song has to be Elf. This is just such a festive and funny film.
3. The Holiday: I watched this film when I was wrapping Christmas presents this year.

Top 3 Food at Christmas
1. Christmas Dinner: This really has to go at the top of the list really! Got to love a Christmas roast dinner!!
2. Quality Street: To me Quality Street just 'smells' of Christmas, we have them every year at Christmas time.
3. Bacon Sandwich: In my family it is tradition to have a bacon sandwich on Christmas morning, so it has to reach the top 3!

Top 3 Vlogmas Channels
1. Zoella: I love watching Zoe's Vlogmas YouTube videos every year, this year in particular she has put so much effort into Christmas on both her YouTube Channels!
2. Sacconejolys: I love these videos all year, and Christmas is no exception.
3. Emily Canham and Jake Boys: I've been really enjoying the New York vlogs!

Top 3 Christmas Songs
1. I wish it could be Christmas everyday: This is a classic, upbeat song that really puts you in a Christmassy mood!
2. Fairy tale of New York: this isn't really the most happy Christmas song but I really like it.
3. All I want for Christmas is you: again this is another classic!

Thank you, for reading - Christmas is so close now. Enjoy the rest of the Christmas holidays.

Christmas Sweet Jar

Today I'm back with a Christmassy DIY post. This didn't turn out as well as I thought but it just gives you an idea as to what to do. I think this makes a really nice Christmas decoration and you could also make one for a present.

You will need: a jar; white paper; black and orange pen and sweets/ chocolate of your choice.

Step 1.  Cut your white paper into a strip that will wrap around the jar. Onto this you need to add a carrot nose and eyes. For the eyes I simply drew them but it would also look great with the stick on eyes. As for the nose, use either orange paper/ card or colour in some white paper and roll into a cone shape.

Step 2. You now need to fill your jar with the sweets of your choice. I chose Cadbury Dairy Milk Snow Balls to replicate a snowman but you can use what ever you like. Unfortunately I only managed to fill the jar half way as I didn't buy enough sweets...

Step 3. I added a final ribbon to the top of the jar.

Thank you for reading. Request any Christmassy posts below. Happy December, goodbye.

November Favourites

I'd like to start off by apologising for not uploading last weekend; I'm definitely feeling the stress of A-Levels right now... Anyway, I feel like I haven't uploaded a favourites post in a while and I am very excited that it is already December!! I have a feeling that this post is going to be filled with random favourites, I'm just going to write and see what favourites stand out in my mind.

One of the things I cannot forget to mention, is the release of One Direction's new album 'Made in the AM'. I was really excited to hear some new music, and it didn't disappoint. I think my favourite songs at are AM and If I could fly - if you have listened to the album let me know in the comments what your favourite song is. I think I also have to mention the return of I'm a celeb, I'm gutted that I can't watch as much as I want to but it is still one of the best shows on TV. Another random favourite has to be the Costa Christmas Caramel Fudge hot chocolate; I was really disappointed that they got rid of the Orange hot chocolate but this is a close second to that.

Onto makeup items, I purchased my first Mac Eye shadow recently in Just Pea Just Peach. It is a really pretty pink shade, and if you know me I love these types of colours. I have also been loving my Rimmel Kate Moss lipstick in 08. I mentioned this in my last post and it is defiantly a really good quality lipstick with a great colour payoff but it is still really affordable.

Sorry again for the lack of posts, I'm really struggling to find enough time to write posts at the moment. See you next time.

My Top 5 Lipsticks

I love pinky/nude toned lipsticks, so in todays post I am going to be sharing my top 5. A nude lip is something that is wearable with pretty much anything and can be subtle enough to wear to school.

L-R

Revlon Colourburst Lacquer Balm - 145 Ingenue (£7.99)
This is a brown-nude shade that really is just a tint to your lips. This is one of those products that you put on and don't have to worry about, as it fades really evenly. This lipstick is a subtle choice and really moisturizes your lips. I don't know if its just me but I think this has a minty scent, which I really like.

 Rimmel Kate Moss - 08 (£5.49)
Rimmel lipsticks are really good quality yet really affordable. This lipstick is more of a Autumn berry nude, so it is still quite a neutral shade. I think this is possibly my favourite lip product at the moment.

Maybelline Colour Sensational - 740 Coffee Craze (£6.99)
Coffee Craze, as you can probably guess by the name, is another brown-nude shade - this one however is more of a lipstick formula. I really love the colour of this but I'm not a fan of the scent this product has.

L'Oreal Paris - Eva's Nude (£6.99)
This lipstick has a stunning packaging, I love the gold detailing. This lipstick is a pinky-peach shade; for me I love to wear this in the warmer weather. It has great staying power and has a great consistency.

Revlon Lip Butter - 025 Peach Parfait (£7.99)
Out of all the lipsticks I have written about in this post this is defiantly the most moisturizing lip product. This is more of a shimmer lip tint as it has shimmery gold undertones - combined with its packaging it is a stunning product.

Thankyou for reading, do leave some lipstick recommendations below - I would love to hear your favourite lip product at the moment. See you next time, byee

Winter on Pinterest

Looking on Pinterest is something I love to do at certain times of the year, the start of winter being one of these. Now for some of you it might be a little too early to get excited for Christmas but the John Lewis advert is out, Starbucks and Costa have started selling their winter drinks/ cups and I've spent today watching a Christmas film - it is around this time that I start getting excited for Christmas!! In winter I also enjoy the cosy nights, layers of jumpers and hot drinks. A lot of my posts from now on will be winter related and by December Christmas will fully begin here...  So in this post I have collected together a selection of photos of my favourite things about this time of year to help you all get excited for the up and coming winter events.

*I'd also like to take this time to say that my thoughts are with anyone who has been affected by this weekends tragic events #prayforparis #prayfortheworld*

A trip to the seaside // Photo Diary

I've spent the last couple of days just outside of Portsmouth, in Southsea, and on our 'main day'
there I decided to take some photos to put in this photo diary blog post. I will have an Autumn Winter outfit post and possibly a holiday haul coming soon! Hope you've had a lovely half term and Halloween, best of luck for November! xx

First stop, we visited the Spinnaker Tower, this gave us great views across Southsea. There was also a slightly scary glass floor (I am wearing my super festive socks... too early?) and sea view café.

We then went on a beach walk, where I managed to take some cool photos of the waves crashing onto the beach path. This was followed by a takeaway hot chocolate to warm up!

We finished the day with a meal out, with rather large sundaes, and a trip to the arcade for a dance battle.

Halloween Nails

For today's post, I have a tutorial for spider web nails. These always seem popular and I haven't done a Halloween design yet. For this I used a black nail polish, a copper glitter polish and a white nail art pen - you could use a cocktail stick or hair grip instead.

The first step is to paint all your nails black. My favourite nail polish is the No.7 Patient Black - you only need one coat and it dries really quickly with a glossy finish.

After that I added lines, coming from one point, using a white nail art pen. You can add these from any edge of your nail. To complete the spider webs put little curved lines in between the main lines (see photo).

You can decide the number of nails you add the spider webs to. To any remaining nails I added a copper/orange glitter nail polish from Miss Sporty. This particularly fits with the Halloween theme. I also tried to add a spider hanging from the top of my nail. I created a white circle and little legs, finishing it off with a line to connect it to the top of my nail. This didn't really turn out the best...

Thankyou for reading, have a lovely October half term an Halloween. If you want any other nail tutorials, let me know. Bye

Autumn Makeup Essentials

Today I have gathered together a few of my favourite products for the autumn to show you all. You all know how much I love Autumn!!

For me Autumn is all about the dark shades of nail polish. I've chosen to include the NO.7 nail polish in Patient Black and Star Shower - this is a gold/grey shade. I love the quality of these nail polishes. I think a grey nail polish is also an essential, BarryM Gelly Hi Shine in Chai, and I've also chosen a vampy red shade, Tanya Burr in Riding Hood. Onto lips; I've always struggled with the Berry toned Autumn lipsticks, they never suit me, but I have recently picked up the Rimmel Kate Moss lipstick in 08 this is a slightly lighter purple/berry shade, this suits me a lot better than the darker lip shades. I totally recommend picking this up if you struggle to find the right berry shade like me -the lipstick is also great quality. And for more of a nude lip, I always go for the Revlon lip Lacquer in Ingenue. For eyes I have picked out two gold/bronze products, the Maybelline Colour Tattoo in On and on Bronze this is a classic makeup item that many of you will probably already own or know about - the Colour tattoos are really long lasting cream eyeshadows. And for a normal eyeshadow I picked out this NO.7 bronze eyeshadow - I got this in a gift set so I have no idea what it is called. Again this is a really good quality product. And finally for a darker eye look I chose the Maybelline Colour Tattoo in Permanent Taupe, this is a grey/taupe shade, perfect for a darker eye look.

Thankyou for reading. As I'm writing this I am sooo close to 10k views which is crazy, thankyou soo much. Next week I have a Halloween nail tutorial (sneak peak on my twitter @megansw0rld). Goodbye.

Autumn Q&A

Hello and welcome back to my blog. Todays post is a short Q&A - make sure you're following my Instagram for the next one.  It's really starting to get more and more Autumnal now - I love it!

@t.absss
What is your Autumn essential?
There are few for me, but you can't beat a cosy oversized jumper in Autumn - Would anyone like to see a Autumn essentials blog post??

@_emma__c & @emsirose
What's your favourite/ go to Autumn Lipstick?
I'm a very nude lip kinda girl, I think at the moment I've been wearing a Revlon Colourburst Lacquer Balm in 145 Ingenue - it's a browny nude shade. However I really want to find myself more of a darker / Autumnal lipstick, any recommendations let me know.

@thriftyvintagefashion
What is your favourite thing to watch on TV that starts in Autumn?
I love that it is beginning to get near to the X factor live shows - that's my favourite part of the show as well as the first auditions. It's also exciting that some Christmas shows/ films are being shown on TV, I think Channel 4 had a whole day of Christmas shows the other week. I've not watched any Christmas films... yet.

@gee.bee.xo
What are you being for Halloween?
I'm not really sure if I'm doing anything for Halloween this year, but at school we are having a Halloween dress up day. I might go as a witch with stripy tights or my friend suggested that I could just dress up in black and be a shadow...

Thankyou for reading. Hope you're loving Autumn so far. See you next weekend, goodbye.
