The Body Shop; Tea Tree // Review

It's been a while since I've posted a review, but recently I've noticed that my past reviews have remained super popular. So today I'm going to review one of my holy grail product... well range. Be warned I'm going to be going into a lot of detail, I know for me skin care is very important to get right so I wanted to share as much as I can.

 

With this being a skin product review I thought first I'd give you a little history on my skin and why I ended up using these products. Hopefully if you have the same skin issues this post  could save you! I know these products totally saved my skin!! (After writing this my skin will probs break out aha). Anyways, my skin has always been on the oily side, I really struggled with maintaining the shine - especially with finding a moisturiser that didn't just add to the issue. In terms of breaking out, to start with I was quite lucky but then (annoyingly) when most of my friends were past the horrendous breakout stage mine begun argh! 

Since using the Body Shop Tea Tree range the oil on my skin is a lot more under control (especially after my night skin care routine) and I only get the odd spot now and again. I feel confident with my skin so much so that I don't even own a foundation. 

.. ohh I almost forget I have super sensitive skin, I'm even slightly allergic to Aloe Vera which seems to go in almost all sensitive skin care as no one else seems to be :(( crie 

Okay woah this was the longest intro so I hope you're still with me! The first product I want to talk about is the 'Body Shop Tea Tree Skin Clearing Facial Wash' (£6.00). I use this every evening after removing makeup, simply by dampening my face and rubbing the product on my face, before rinsing with water. 

Quick tip; I've recently heard that washing your face first with warm water and then cold is good to help stop breakouts.

 

This face wash is amazing as it leaves my face feeling super smooth and not at all oily. I've also found that (like with all the products) although they are a little more expensive than the standard i.e. Simple products (which I use in combination with the Tea Tree Range) one bottle lasts a very long time - I'm pretty sure I'm on my first bottle still and I brought that in October last year. A little goes a long way with this!

The second product is the 'Mattifying Lotion' (£9.50). This was actually the first product I purchased after I saw YouTuber Samantha Maria talking about it. It literally seemed perfect for controlling my oily skin and I was not wrong! This honestly goes everywhere with me, even when I cannot take a lot of skin care with me guaranteed I will still have this. Simply I take a pea sized amount and rub into my skin; particularly around trouble areas such as my forehead and t zone. The product pretty instantly is absorbed into my skin, leaving it feeling completely Matt and soft. This is the last product I use before popping into bed.

It is also has really easy travel size packaging and if there is only one product you wish to try out of the range then this is the one to go for! I only used this a year before trying the other products, so this alone will do wonders for your skin.

The Body Shop offered a gift set including the products mentioned above, and the 'Skin Clearing Foaming Cleanser' (£6.00). Last Christmas my parents kindly gifted this to me - so I'm not sure if it's just a Xmas set, but I tend to just stock up on all the individual products when they are on offer (preparing for the uni life budget). 

This is quite a cool product as it comes out as a foam before you rub it into your face. Personally I choose to use this in the morning if I'm having a no makeup day, or just if I feel my skin needs a bit of love. I always feel like my skin is totally refreshed after using this; kinda that feeling of being super clean if that makes sense. Again this is super long lasting, yes I only use it now and again but when I do I usually only take one or two pumps. 

The 'Blemish Gel' - since renamed as 'Targeted Gel' (£7.00) isn't something I use very much anymore. I used to place it on any troublesome spots to reduce them. However I don't think it always makes a huge difference. Instead something like Savalon Cream or toothpaste do a better job and, especially toothpaste, are probably already lying around your house anyway. 

So those are the products from my holy grail range. I seriously recommend these products, particularly the Mattifying Lotion, which I believe has made the biggest difference to my skin.
