Glittery Ombré Nails - Tutorial

Hello,

I have decided to create this simple ombré design in blue / turquoise. I have used two colours Maybelline Colour Show 'Cool Blue' (£2.99) and Rimmel London 'Pear Drop' (£2.99) and for the glittery nail polish I have chosen Miss Sporty 'Blazing Bronze' (£1.99). These can all be found in Superdrug. You will also need a small cheap sponge and a clear nail polish.

First I apply one of my chosen nail polishes (Maybelline 'Cool Blue') onto my nails - apply more than one coat if needed.
When dried, I apply a generous amount of the second Nail Polish (Rimmel 'Pear Drop') onto the sponge. Only cover an area the size of your nail to avoid wasting nail polish.

I then gently press the sponge onto my nail half way up. After removing the sponge it should look like this (image above). Add more nail polish after every nail and leave to dry. Repeat if you want a bolder colour.

Now I add a thin glitter layer on top. By doing this it hides the straight line between the two colours. Ovoid a thick layer as this will hide the colours underneath. For this I have chosen a copper/ gold glitter nail polish (Miss Sporty 'Blazing Bronze'). I also recommend Maybelline Colour Show 'Glitter it' (£2.99) for a silver glitter nail polish. (Sorry the image isn't very clear).

To finish the nails off, I add a clear coat of nail polish - this helps keep the nail polish on for longer.
I hope you like this tutorial - sorry it's quite long. You don't have to use the same colours as I have, most colours work well - e.g pink-purple or purple-blue or you could use 3-4 colours instead. This design can be used all year round, maybe pastels in summer and darker colours in the winter.

Megan
